PLAN A PILGRIMAGE

Saints and savants through the ages like Adi Sankaracharya down to Shri. Melpathur and Shri. Poonthanam have added sanctity to this spot by offering worship to Lord Sree Guruvayurappan. This place has also come to be known as the Dwaraka of the South. The idol installed here represent the full manifestations of the Lord Mahavishnu as was reveled to Vasudeva and Devaki  at the time of Krishnavathara - that attractive form of Lord Krishna endowed with the four lustrous arms carrying the conch, the discus, the mace and the lotus. Adorning himself with the divine tulasi garland and pearl necklaces, the Lord  here appears in all radiance. His eyes stream forth the milk of compassion and kindness. A darshan of this immortal form of Sree Guruvayurappan is supposed to give everybody "Aayurarogya soukhyam"  in this life.
